2022

FRANK-PTI becomes part of the NAVIGATOR GROUP. Elof Hansson remains strategic partner for worldwide sales.

2020-2021

New edition and revision of the PTA-Line into the new ModularLine.

2016

FRANK-PTI focuses on the site in Birkenau, Germany. The complete product portfolio is now produced in Birkenau. The site in Austria focuses on sales and service. As a result, FRANK-PTI benefits from focused resourcing, centralized research and development, and better distribution of field service to offer a better and more holistic product portfolio and service.

2012

Frank-PTI was acquired by Elof Hansson Gothenburg Sweden in 2012. Elof Hansson is an international trading company especially in the field of pulp and paper with about 500 employees and an estimated annual turnover of 1 billion US dollars.

2008

Due to a strategic alignment with the parent company PTI, the company FRANK Prüfgeräte GmbH is renamed FRANK-PTI GmbH.

from 2005

FRANK Prüfgeräte invests in a new company building at the Birkenau site in 2005. This is now equipped with training rooms and state-of-the-art production halls.

A large part of the product range is converted to user-friendly touch screen technology. To further consolidate the service network within Germany, Poland and Switzerland, a cooperation with Kögel Werkstoff- und Materialprüfsysteme GmbH in Leipzig is agreed in 2006.

2004

To meet the high demand for automatic cross-profile measurements, PTI launches the first PTA-Line(Paper Testing Automatic Line) in 2004.

from 1999

PTI is looking for a way to supplement the scope of supply for its pulp testing equipment. In 1999, the remaining stock of equipment and spare parts as well as drawings and rights are purchased from the insolvent company Frank and the company FRANK Prüfgeräte is founded at the same location. From this time on the companies FRANK and PTI produce independently at their respective locations. The complete product range of Karl Frank is overhauled. The devices are modernized, equipped with industrial PCs and graphic displays.

from 1995

The product range is regularly expanded with some testing equipment. Soon complete pulp testing laboratories are established.PTI establishes itself on the international market and becomes the market leader in sheet formers.

1995

The company PTI (Paper Testing Instruments) was founded. With a small team the production of sheet formers and the trade of laboratory testing instruments starts.

from 1950

Frank develops numerous new testing instruments for the pulp and paper industry and rebuilds the production facilities in Weinheim-Birkenau and Mannheim-Rheinau, which were destroyed during the Second World War.

1930s

The production programme is expanded to include the manufacture of test equipment, and additional plants are gradually set up in Mannheim-Stadt and Weinheim-Birkenau, among others.
